Dial Plans

Within the PBX module, click on the Dial Plans option to access the administration of the dial plans configured in your Sagicc instance.

A dial plan refers to a set of rules and guidelines that determine how phone numbers should be dialed and how calls are managed within an IP telephony network. Dial plans dictate the actions to be taken when a user in our phone network dials a specific number. These rules allow us to specify through which trunks we want to route calls when a particular dial pattern is used.

In more general terms, dial plans include information on how phone numbers should be entered, whether any access codes need to be added, how internal extensions are handled, and how outgoing and incoming calls are routed. They can also define how international dial prefixes, area codes, and other specific details of phone numbering are managed.

By selecting the Dial Plans option, you will access a list where you can view all the dial plans previously configured in the platform. For each plan in the list, basic information such as the name, pattern, prefix, suffix, trunk, and creation date will be displayed. By clicking the "Add Dial Plan" button (located in the upper right corner), a form will be displayed, allowing you to add a new plan to the platform.

Additionally, in the Options column of the list, you will have the possibility to enable or disable any of the dial plans. You can achieve this by clicking on the "Deploy" button to enable or "Stop" to disable. Also, from the Options column, you can edit or delete an existing dial plan as needed.

Add Dial Plan

To add a dial plan, click on the "Add Dial Plan" button from the Dial Plans list.

Sagicc will take you to the dial plan creation form, where you must enter the following required information:

  • Name: Refers to the name assigned to the dial plan.

  • Pattern: Represents the numeric sequence against which user-dialed numbers are compared.

  • Prefix: Indicates the sequence of numbers to be added at the beginning of the user-dialed number.

  • Suffix: Denotes the sequence of numbers to be added at the end of the user-dialed number.

  • Action: Corresponds to the action to be taken once the module detects the specified pattern.

    • Send to IVR: Directs the call to a previously configured IVR in the platform's IVR Builder module. A field will be displayed to select the desired IVR.

    • Call by Trunk: Sends the call to a specific SIP trunk, previously configured in the platform. A field will be displayed to select the desired trunk.

Verify the information entered for both basic and advanced configuration, and click Save to add the new dial plan. If the process is carried out correctly, Sagicc will redirect you to the Dial Plans module, where you can view the newly created plan in the list.
